That's not meant as a disrespectful assumption of your personalities but just the fact that you're following this blog and thank you for that by the way, lovely that you've stepped deeper into mine and My Passion's world..
This is still new to me and i'm still working it all out. So today I thought i'd try something new and upload some footage of me and the guys working on new tracks, it doesn't give too much away but you can hear a few bits and pieces from new songs as well as our usual tomfoolery!
I've realised how much I love being back in Hertfordshire with my friends and how exciting writing music with those close friends really is. For a long time now i've kind of had a fear of being home and only truely felt at home when in some kind of vehicle careening towards a new city or in a travelodge with the same safe walls, windows and sofa that I sleep on that leaves those marks on your skin for about an hour after waking up and looks as if you have some 80's patterned skin disease. It's what I know and while i'm out there I feel like the work is being done in securing our future.
The last tour was a few weeks back now and there is about a month and a half until I next take to the stage, it's the longest gap without playing I can remember since the beginning of My Passion. Usually i'd be climbing up the walls, spinning in my office chair or going quickly insane in some way.
But there is this relief especially for me, Jon & Kenny, at being home and to get all these ideas that were building up for so long out in the open and worked through. There's so much it's like where do we start but we can now give it the time it deserves!
It's a brilliant feeling to be at this point where we have made a lovely vibrant debut album that captured the journey of My Passion up until this point and that has begun to get us lots of fans and lots of attention from the press. With the Kerrang tour hanging just around the corner 2010 is going to kick off with a bang, it's the biggest thing we've done in our career so far and I have to sit back and reflect on everything that has happened this year because i forget to do that a lot.
It finally feels like we're ready for the next step, it feels like the apprentiship is complete and that the big stage awaits. It's a feeling that comes from all the shows up until now and finally sitting down with new songs and getting that buzzing exciting feeling that album number two is going to be some kind of epic monster that shows any doubters exactly what we're capable of and most importantly something that we love and captures My Passion now. Writing an album in a much shorter space of time definately leaves you with a more focussed, coherent piece of work although it's still early days and a lot of the writing is still being done.
I just wanted to give you a little behind the scenes and tell you all how proud I am with what we are writing! There will be more soon.
Until then enjoy the video and i'm off to do what I love and work on the hot track of the week called "Confession".
Stay sweet
Lx

AAAAHHH!! It's all so exciting!! You guys always seem to have such a laugh; I wish my life was as interesting! Can't wait for the new material :) Unfortunately, I've opted out of the Kerrang tour, cause I only want to see you guys and Young Guns. Eh. So I'm going to the not-so-secret gig in Hitchin on the 19th January! HaHA!
ReplyDeleteI'll see you then.
Keep blogging, I love it! xx
