This week I brought 2 copies of Rage Against The Machine's Killing In The Name Of. Not because I think This Joe bloggs what's his face factor thingy is the worst thing i've ever heard or that he's a bad singer... Nope he's an alright looking chap with a nice set of lungs... But number one so shortly after being thrust into the limelight with a mediocre song that people buy just because of the xfactor brand rather than falling in love with the song or the gentlemans unique sound he'd worked so hard to develop and capture... just doesn't sit right with me. We've got Will young and we've got many more like him does the world need this little fella to survive will they miss him when he's gone? probably not.. I suppose coming from a background of learning to write and perform music as a teenager and working hard at my art and in everything related to the band i'm in. You make lot's of mistakes learn lot's of lessons and they inevitably make you a better person, musician, performer or whatever we are.. I've grown up with bands that have really won my heart and that have a devoted following, people grow with these bands and follow their journey through life and they become a part of that world, this is what i've always imagined for My Passion... I guess only time will tell what will be the more long lasting journey and on what level people will be affected by these different artists..
It's been a bit of a magical year for me. I'm so glad so many of you people out there could be a part of that and watching where My Passion have come from.
Ther have a been a few albums this year that have entered my world on some level maybe you'll like one or two of them?

Yes, Laurence! The Prodigy's 'Invaders Must Die' IS my album of 2009. It sums up the whole year for me XD A very good list of albums here, I'm glad you know which music inspires ;D I might have to steal this idea from you, actually.....
ReplyDeleteAlso, I agree with the whole Rage thing. They totally deserve it more. The twats saying it's unfair are sort of hypocritical. They're forgetting that it's also unfair to hand fame to someone on a plate. But hey, let them get on with it. Maybe they'll remember they're shit in a few years time.
And My Passion will go from strength to strength. We all love you, and we're all so proud of you!
Big love!
K xx
That's a wonderful album list! I have 1/2 of them and will give the others a listen.
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays to you as well. I can't wait to see what is next for My Passion. <3
O-M-G, i love Placebo *-----*
ReplyDeleteSince two years back My Passion has been more than just "a band" to me. And I thank you so much for that.
ReplyDeleteI hope the next years will be as magical for you as this have been :)
Keep inspiring people and do your own thing, you do it best.
Love,
Liaautumn
